Booker T Says Any WWE Superstar Who Slaps Their Leg Should Be Fired

June 2024 · 2 minute read

Pro wrestling has come a long way since the likes of Booker T and Kurt Angle captivated the audience with their incredible showman and in-ring. Wrestlers in today’s industry are more about spots than in-ring psychology which goes to show how much the business has evolved since the days of Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels.

The fast-paced nature of the product today has invited criticism from a certain section of fans and old-school veterans, many of whom believe the flashy movesets nowadays have influenced the art of storytelling to a great extent, and not in a good way. One of the moves that continues to be the subject of online debate is thigh slap or leg slap.

The current generation of pro wrestlers is accustomed to slapping their thighs while hitting their opponents with superkicks and other moves of similar nature. Veterans and purists are no fans of the leg slap for one reason or the other. In fact, a certain WWE Hall of Famer wants performers who resort to leg slap fired from their promotions.

Speaking with GiveMeSport, Booker T said he’s not a fan of the leg slap. The former multi-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion said the thigh slap “bothered “bugs me more than anything.” Check out his full comment below:

“I guess my pet peeve, you know, the thing that really bugs me more than anything… My hot take is everybody that does the leg slap should be fired.”

Leg slapping has become common in WWE during the recent years thanks to the black and gold era of NXT. Do you agree with Booker T that WWE superstars who use leg slapping should be fired from the company? Sound off in the comments!
